Located in the Garhwal region, close to the border of Himanchal Pradesh Chakrata is a cantonment town in the Dehradun district in the state of Uttarakhand, India. The place is settled between the River Tons and the Yamuna and set up at an altitude of 2133 m above the sea level. It is well known as a picnic spot because of the presence of a number of tourist engaging attractions which includes some beautiful waterfalls, especially Tiger falls. This place is around 2 hour’s drive from the Dehradun city and is a lesser-known tourist place which will delight you in every way possible being away from the city hustle.

In the month of august a three day festival is celebrated in Chakrata each year, it’s a festival which comes from the lineage of Jaunsari is this festival devotees sings in praise of god to show their love affection and devotions to the ultimate god.
