Hikes Travel” – Beyond Life and Death – Adi Kailash the Home of Lord Shiva and Mother Parvati. Adi Kailash is one of the Panch Kailash according to Hindu Mythology. Om Parvat and Adi Kailash are considered as very sacred place in Hinduism. Just a darshan of it can make your inner self enlightened and cleansed. It is believed that the cosmic energy that is prevalent here can transform a person. It is the land of tranquillity and serenity. The demon king Ravana meditated here and was blessed by Almighty Shiva with the strength of 20 arms and brains of 10 heads. According to the legends, there are only eight mountains in India, which has an impression of OM symbol. Out of these eight, only one has been discovered, which is known as Om Parvat or Adi Kailash. This magical mountain, Adi Kailash, is standing tall at an elevation of 6191m in the Dharchula district. It is quite known for its strong religious and adventure connect, also, it is believed that the mountain has a miraculous nature. One thing, which makes this mountain look apart from other Himalayan ranges is its Om shape, which is formed by the deposition of snow on the black mountain.

Itinerary

Your journey starts in the charming town of Haldwani, often known as the "Gateway to Kumaon." Upon your arrival, you will check into a comfortable hotel. This day serves as a crucial prelude to your adventure. Take this time to ensure that your bike is in excellent condition, as it will be your trusted companion on this remarkable journey. Additionally, you'll receive a thorough briefing, equipping you with all the essential information you need to make the most of this thrilling experience.

The adventure officially kicks off as you leave Haldwani and make your way to the mesmerizing town of Pithoragarh. The journey covers a distance of 196 kilometers and typically takes 7-8 hours. Throughout this drive, you'll be treated to awe-inspiring vistas, from lush forests to picturesque valleys. Pithoragarh, perched at an elevation of 1627 meters, is your first destination, and it welcomes you with its natural beauty and tranquil atmosphere

After a good night's rest, start your day by heading to Dharchula. The drive spans a distance of 93 kilometers and is usually completed in around 3 hours. Dharchula, at an elevation of 940 meters, is the gateway to the greater Himalayas. This quaint town is situated along the banks of the Kali River, offering a glimpse of the region's rich natural beauty. After reaching at dharchula will complete our madical check test and verfication to be done for inner line permit. Aadhar card and Passport size photo required

The journey continues as you travel to Gunji, a serene village. This leg of your trip spans 71 kilometers and takes approximately 4-5 hours. Gunji, located at 3200 meters above sea level, is surrounded by lush meadows and pristine landscapes. It provides a perfect setting for relaxation and reflection. Dharchula to Gunji takes you sudden higher elevation and cold dessert mountains so its normal to have headache and motion sickness keep your preffered medication along with you.

This day holds a profound spiritual experience. Your destination is Adi Kailash, a sacred site, and the journey covers 68 kilometers. Adi Kailash stands at a majestic altitude of 4497 meters, and here you'll have the opportunity to explore the spiritual significance of this revered place. The atmosphere is
serene and peaceful, providing an ideal setting for meditation and reflection.

A mystical adventure awaits as you set off from Gunji (or Nabhi) to OM Parvat. The drive spans 22 kilometers and leads you to an altitude of 4246 meters. OM Parvat is known for a natural formation that resembles the sacred symbol "OM." The sight is enchanting, and the surrounding landscape is an invitation to explore the wonders of nature.

Bid farewell to the peaceful abode of Gunji or Nabhi and make your way to Didihat. The drive covers 158 kilometers and takes approximately 6 hours. Didihat, situated at an elevation of 3200 meters, offers a change of scenery and is an excellent opportunity to take in the natural beauty of this region.

As your adventure nears its conclusion, embark on a 6.5-hour drive spanning 189 kilometers from Didihat to Bhimtal. Bhimtal is a serene lake town known for its tranquil atmosphere. Finally, you'll reach Kathgodam, a mere 21 kilometers from Bhimtal. This is where your unforgettable journey concludes, and you depart with memories that will last a lifetime.
